Sarah Morgann Coggins is a professional singer, a recording artist, and, periodically, a guest public speaker. She studied voice for 19 years with Dan Truhitte who plays Rolf in MGM’s feature film, The Sound of Music. She studied music and languages at College of Charleston before being invited to privately study Speech Level Singing under Michael Goodrich of Goodrich Vocal Studio in California, which she did for 12 years.
Sarah has captivated audiences in concerts across the U.S. and around the world since she was six years old. At the encouragement of Dan Truhitte, she and her family decided that she should pursue a professional career. When she was 13, she recorded her first album, Sarah Morgann.
After meeting Sarah and listening to her recording, concert pianist Marvin Goldstein invited Sarah to record and travel to perform with him in firesides and concerts around the U.S. and the world. He and Sarah have recorded eight of Sarah’s eleven albums together.
On a trip to Israel with Marvin, Sarah met L.D.S. tour guide, Daniel Rona of Israel Revealed. Daniel then invited Sarah to travel across the U.S. and sing in his firesides on the life of Christ and His country.
Sarah performed in these firesides for twelve years. The experiences she had solidified her testimony and deepened her understanding of the important part music and the arts play in spreading the Gospel. After this point in her career, Sarah was divinely directed to serve in a secular part of the music industry.
She produced three albums of love songs that introduced her to fans from all quarters of the world. Two Asian companies picked up two of Sarah’s love song albums to re-market for distribution to their target audience.
In 2009, Sarah met actor/musician Kirby Heyborne and the two recorded a Christmas album with Marvin. They performed a short tour for this album.
Sarah and Kirby recorded a second album together as the duo Us, and released a single for the music video they filmed of Sarah’s song, “Mariner’s Wife.”
Later, Sarah began working with mentor, Dan Truhitte, co-starring in performances in the Southeast, assisting him with concerts for his vocal students, and more recently, recording duets from The Sound of Music for his upcoming comeback album.
Sarah taught voice and stage presence for a modeling and acting agency in Charlotte and taught general music classes for homeschoolers. Currently, she aids students with English and French pronunciation and continues to give private voice lessons to students of all ages.
Though her primary focus is nurturing her family, Sarah continues to perform at firesides, concerts, and special programs. Sarah currently lives in the Carolinas with her husband and their two children.
Sarah’s music can be found on iTunes, youtube, and many other digital distributors.
